EXPERIENCE

Principal Architect, Owner, Maria Kotlyar Brand, 2008-2022

• Independently created, planned, and saw through completion over 12 residential house projects, over 15 condos, 5 offices, 10 showrooms, 5 stores including author’s supervision.
• As an engagement leader, met all clients in person to gather requirements and discuss execution.
• Represented the client to obtain bids and win exhibition and construction contracts.
• For every project, managed teams of dozen workers, plumbers, electricians, and foremen.

Selected industrial project examples (with assembly and implementation supervision):

• Designed the Dok17 factory showroom to exhibit the manufactured goods to new foreign buyers. Designed and put into production all custom elements used in the showroom.
• Architected a two-story industrial building for equipment supplier NPO ‘Geliymash.’ Redesigned the structural building shell and transitioned the industrial complex into a functioning office.
• Designed a concept for the car showroom and factory workshop for General Motors car service.

Selected commercial project examples:

• Represented designer retail store LeFutur. Won a contract bid for the client and planned the new store at the international airport Domodedovo. Supervised the development process.
• Planned the downtown office interior of the Russian-American company ‘Gracias’ complying with international architectural standards and guidelines.
• Planned two project options for cafe Nescafé at the subway station connected to the airport.

Selected residential project examples:

• Furnished a private mansion in the suburbs of Riga, Latvia. Planned and executed on unique piping for multiple fireplaces. Designed Scandinavian exterior and hi-tech minimalism interior.
• Planned and furnished the exterior of a four-story 4000 sq ft estate in the style of British Baroque. Special requested add-ons: designed a billiard room, sauna, and bar space in the basement, library with fireplace.
• Planned and finished two modern private suburban houses and backyards in Moscow. Traveled to China for business to procure custom materials requested by the client.

Selected residential project examples:

• Designed and furnished a city condo in the style of Art Nouveau covering work with murals and custom wall stucco. The walls for a Georgian family featured the Main Caucasian Range sculpting.
• Developed a family condo plan and successfully combined high tech kid rooms design using concrete imitation with the master bedroom furnished in the style of classicism.

Contractor, Architect, Architectural Studio Ladif, Moscow, Russia, 2004 – 2006
Lead dozens of residential projects from beginning to end, including author’s supervision.
Selected residential project examples:

• Designed a residential space by combining two condos and furnishing in the style of French classicism. The project featured smart home devices with programmable switches, outlets, AC, lights.
• Architected a condo designed around showcasing the client antique collections, with display niches to fit artwork.

• Successfully lead a team of architects and designers to manage 200 dealers and client relationships.
• Lead the firm development strategy and was in charge of all new collections put out.
• Created award-winning international furniture showrooms to represent the company.
• Under my leadership, the company became a national leader in furniture manufacturing.
